Being For Others
Volunteers make an invaluable contribution to the mission and values of Calvary Health Care Adelaide, in supporting and complementing the efforts of professional staff.
The organisation has a long and rich history of Volunteer Services.  Our volunteer program offers over 60 job descriptions, all of which provide necessary support to patients and their families. We have volunteer opportunities in customer service, patient/ non patient contact, clerical/ reception, and art, music and biography programs.
Some volunteers prefer to use existing skills, others gain new skills in worthwhile endeavours, whatever the reason they are a vital component in providing excellence in patient care.
In 2009 Calvary Health Care Adelaide volunteers contributed over 34,000 hours in support of the patients, families, visitors and staff.
We would like to invite you to become part of the Calvary Health Care Adelaide Volunteer team. We are a close-knit team in which lasting friendships are built. Come and enjoy the benefits of serving others.
Calvary Health Care Adelaide has volunteer teams in each of our four locations:

  • Calvary North Adelaide Hospital: 89 Strangways Terrace, North Adelaide SA 5006
  • Calvary Wakefield Hospital: 300 Wakefield Street, Adelaide SA 5000
  • Calvary Rehabilitation Hospital: 18 North East Road, Walkerville SA 5081
  • Calvary Central Districts Hospital: 25-37 Jarvis Street, Elizabeth Vale SA 5112

Volunteer Opportunities
Calvary Health Care Adelaide offers a rewarding and enjoyable environment for individuals interested in volunteering. We appreciate the commitment made by joining our volunteer service.

Volunteers enhance the hospitals service in many areas, some of which are:

  • Materials management
  • Maintenance
  • Ward support
  • Music program
  • Pastoral Care
  • Fra Angelico Creative Arts Program: assists patients to leave tangible mementoes for their loved ones, such as ceramics and other creative art
  • Biography program: Gives patients the opportunity to record  their life’s stories

Please note our volunteering roles require a commitment of a minimum of 12 months.
We also support Centrelink programs for positions that suit this requirement.
