In the event of an emergency such as chest pain patients can access the hospital's Chest Pain Clinic by presenting to the staff at Wakefield Emergency Centre who will arrange for specialist treatment and admission as required.

The Pastoral Care staff are committed to the spiritual wellbeing of patients. Members of the clergy visit on a regular basis from a wide range of denominations and visits can be arranged through the Pastoral Care team.
The Hospital Chapel, located to the left of Lyons Ward and is open 24 hours a day. Patients and family are welcome to visit any time for reflection or prayer. Service times are posted on the chapel door. Mass is held on the third Thursday of the month at 11.00 am and an Ecuminical Services is held every Wednesday at 11.00 a.m.
